Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the lifeblood and the driving force behind CAPAPA. They work in their communities and organizations, in centers across Canada, to spread the word about the benefits of being a Privacy and Access Professional.

Boost your level of involvement in CAPAPA and see the rewards in your own personal and professional development.

Regional Representatives

Regional Representatives across Canada are integral resources for members and the public. They serve as ambassadors for CAPAPA and for the profession, and as liaisons between CAPAPA and members and future members in their geographic regions.

Regional Representatives must have a good understanding of the profession served by CAPAPA, including the legislation and technological challenges, benefits and opportunities.

Regional Representatives appreciate and can articulate the value that practicing in the profession brings - both to the practitioner and to organizations in the private and public sectors.

Regional Representatives participate in activities that support and enhance CAPAPA’s membership, visibility and reputation. Participation is often in the form of organizing and hosting activities or of representing CAPAPA as a spokesperson or speaker.

The chosen intern will will gain benefit by gaining experience in a range of marketing tasks, and developing an understanding of privacy and access issues in Canada and beyond while working for Canada's premier NGO dedicated to advancing the privacy and access profession in Canada.

Applicants should have a flair for copywriting, an interest in privacy and access law, an awareness of current events relating to access and privacy, and a desire to gain marketing experience. Computer literacy and bilingual (English/French) skills are important attributes.
